Mission Hills High School is proud to be home to the
Iron Kodiaks:
FRC Robotics Team 5137.
Our team cultivates innovation, teamwork, perseverance, and leadership – qualities that prepare students for success in STEM and beyond.

We strive to inspire students through a collaborative learning environment that promotes personal growth, strong work ethic, and a passion for excellence.

Team 5137 empowers our students through hands-on STEM education as part of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). On the technical side, students develop critical engineering and problem-solving skills through strategic planning, creative design, and the full process of building a competitive robot. Behind the scenes, team members gain real-world experience in project management, marketing, public relations, and fundraising, and more – preparing them to lead in any field they pursue.

Iron Kodiaks awarded
Excellence in Engineering

April 4, 2026 | Orange County District FIRST Robotics Competition
Huge congratulations to our Mission Hills High School Iron Kodiaks, for earning the Excellence in Engineering Award, sponsored by Littelfuse!
This award honors the team at competition whose robot design brings every component together seamlessly. The judges praised Iron Kodiaks for a design process built on clear priorities, testing, strong mechanical and software iteration, and a commitment to growing the next generation of STEM in our community.
This is a huge honor for our team and school!
We’re thrilled to announce that we are moving onto the State Championships!

Iron Kodiaks are more than a robotics team: We are a community built on innovation, leadership, and a shared passion for STEM.

We take pride in the lasting impact we make on our community, and the remarkable growth we’ve achieved together, season after season.

Our success is made possible through the hard work and grit of our students, with steadfast support of dedicated parents, mentors, volunteers, and sponsors – each playing a vital role in helping our team thrive.

Competing in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) requires not only creativity and collaboration, but advanced technical, and strong organizational skills.

Since our first robotics competition in 2014, Iron Kodiaks have guided and encouraged hundreds of students to dream big, think creatively, and excel both within and beyond the world of STEM.

As part of FIRST, the world’s most recognized student robotics organization, we join more than 650,000 participants across 100+ countries who share the same passion for exploration and collaboration. In the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) – the organization’s flagship program – we proudly compete alongside over 3,000 teams and 85,000 students from around the globe, united by a common goal: to use science, technology, business, and teamwork to build a better future.
